Have you ever noticed that when you're "going around and around" on a problem, you have four distinctly different reactions to it?
That's right, there are four walls to bounce off that's why it feels like a box!
The four walls are the angry, sad, afraid, and resigned reactions you have to the problem.
- The Angry wall.
When you're angry about the problem, you're either sounding the charge or sounding the retreat. More about the Angry wall.
- The Sad wall.
When you're sad about the problem, you're either overwhelmed with feeling or shut down. Either way, you're feeling disconnected from those around you or from yourself. More about the Sad wall.
- The Afraid wall.
When you're afraid about the problem, you may be afraid on a deep level that the box means there's something wrong with you. More about the Afraid wall.
- The Resigned wall.
By "resigned about the problem," I mean you've decided that the box is something you can't change about yourself. "That's just the way I am." More about the Resigned wall.
What's inside the box? Inside the box is something you once wanted. More about what's inside.
Why is the box hard to escape? The box is hard to escape for several reasons. More about why it's hard.
How does Shadow Work transform the box? First, we put a "container" around the box a safe environment in which you can examine the box. More about how it's transformed.
